Habitat for Humanity York County needs your help! Please join us for the 6th Annual "Raise the Roof" Golf Tournament at the Old Marsh Golf Club in Wells, Maine on Monday, September 15, 2008.

In June 2008, HfHYC completed its 23rd home. We are proud that we have helped over 100 adults and children find decent, affordable housing in our 23-year history. Unfortunately, poverty housing persists in York County. The average home in York County was $253,900 in 2005; the median family income in 2000 was $43,630. At even a modest interest rate, the monthly payment would be far beyond the reach of many hard-working families. HfHYC provides no-cost mortgages to our partner families to achieve principal and escrow payments of less than $650 per month. HfHYC cannot offer affordable homes without significant contributions including: volunteer labor, donated materials, and corporate and individual monetary donations. Contributions to HfHYC are fully tax-deductible.

In our tournament's history, we have raised more than $50,000 toward our building projects. This year we hope to raise $25,000 toward a project being built in Limerick in 2009.

We are anticipating a highly successful and well-attended outing. Show Habitat for Humanity York County's friends, neighbors and colleagues your company's commitment to eliminating poverty housing in York County. Please consider becoming a sponsor and/or joining a foursome for a great day of golf.
