Keep York County Warm! is partnering with Efficiency Maine’s Low Income Home Energy Savings Program and two local energy auditors to provide professional weatherization services to 40 low-income homeowners in York County. These services are provided at no cost to the homeowners.
The Low Income Home Energy Savings Program (LIHESP) provides rebates to weatherize qualified low-income homeowner’s homes. Habitat will provide 40 homeowners with the
Step 1 Energy Bundle which includes: $1,050 of services: an energy assessment, 6 hours of air sealing and basic insulation which could include, insulating box sills with spray foam, sealing or insulating a mobile home underbelly, repairing, insulating and sealing doors or hatches and insulating heating system duct work.
Keep York County Warm! will provide interior storm window inserts, CO and Smoke Detectors, LED lightbulbs, and faucet aerators to homeowners in the program.
Five of the 40 homes will also receive Step 2 Insulation Work as well as the energy upgrade bundle. Step 2 includes an additional $1,500 of wall, basement or attic insulation depending on their need. These families will receive $2550 of weatherization work.
