Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Strength

With a little help, we all have the potential to stand on our own. No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve to have a decent life.

Stability

Strong and stable homes help build strong and stable communities. A decent place to live can remove barriers to opportunity, success and health that might have been part of a family’s life for years, if not generations.

Habitat homeowners receive financial education, help build their houses and pay an affordable mortgage.

Self-Reliance

Shelter

Decent shelter is something we all need to thrive. Our shared vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

About Habitat York County

Habitat for Humanity York County was founded in 1985 by Miles Freeman and a small group of dedicated individuals. Since that time, Habitat has completed 31 homes in York County for hard-working people in need of decent, affordable housing.
In June 2013, Habitat opened a ReStore to support our mission. The ReStore sells donated building materials, appliances, furniture, hardware and household goods to the general public, and proceeds support Habitat’s affordable housing mission.
Habitat’s Weatherization and Aging in Place program brings community members together to assist low-income homeowners in need of assistance. Our mission is to help York County’s most vulnerable residents reduce their energy costs and improve their comfort, health, and safety in their home.
Habitat for Humanity York County is one of ten affiliates serving communities throughout Maine. If you don’t live in York County, please click here to find your local affiliate.

Kennebunk Restore

The Kennebunk Habitat Restore sells donated, new and reusable building materials, appliances, wooden furniture, tools, hardware, doors, windows, lighting, cabinets, plumbing supplies, flooring and much more.

All purchases made at the ReStore support Habitat's affordable housing mission.
