The Family Selection Committee reviews all Family Information Forms. If the income guidelines, based on U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and criteria is met, the committee will recommend proceeding to the application meeting.
All eligible candidates must attend a Family Application Meeting to complete a mortgage application. For a list of required items to bring to the Family Application Meeting,
click here. The location, date and times for the Family Application Meetings will appear on the home page when information is available.
Individual interviews and a review of all homeowner materials will be conducted by the Family Support Committee. Further interviews and home visits may be necessary to determine need for housing and willingness to partner.
All application materials are throughly reviewed by the Family Support Committee. Finalists may have additional interviews. The selected applicant's information is presented to the Board of Directors for final review and approval. To ensure a seamless transition from renter to owner, a family partner is assigned to the newly selected Habitat homeowner.
