Volunteers are the Backbone of the Kennebunk ReStore
Join our friendly team as a volunteer before the store opens helping us prepare the store for shopping, or as store support during shopping hours.
Volunteering is a great opportunity to get involved in our community, and complete community service hours.

Where are you building?We are currently building two homes in Cape Porpoise

What does a typical build day look like?Volunteers have the opportunity to spend a half day (8:30-12:00) or a full day (8:30-3:30) on the build site. The day begins with a short intoduction about what the day will entail. The construction manager will teach volunteers how to complete the daily assignments. There will be a break for lunch around 12:00 (not provided). Volunteers complete work that they are comfortable doing, no one will be required to do something that they are unfortable with. We encourage volunteers to take breaks as needed.

What should volunteers know about volunteer during Covid-19?Masks are currently optional. If you are feeling sick or have a known covid exposure please stay home and register for a different volunteer day.

Do I need construction experience?No! We welcome volunteers of all skill levels on the build site. The construction manger and skilled volunteers will be on the build site to teach you everything you will need to know.

What should I bring with me to volunteer?All necessary tools and safety equipment will be provided on the job site, but you are welcome to bring tools from home. Water bottles and snacks are availible on the build site, but we encourage you to bring your own water bottle. Please wear closed toe shoes, and dress in layers.

Are there bathrooms on the build site?There are port-a-potties on all of our build sites.

Are there age restrictions?Yes. Volunteer aged 16 and 17 are permitted on the build site if they are acommpanied with an adult.
